Alternate Mode, or DP Alt Mode, is part of the USB-C specifications and enables USB-C connectors and cables to carry DisplayPort signals via HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA. As a result, you can enjoy 4K Ultra HD video and audio via USB-C. To benefit from Alt Mode, your device has to support Alt Mode.
